Eastern Uni Games. Sydney Uni Strikes Silver - Again!

This year SUUFA sent both an Elite and Development team to compete (and party) for the 5-day tournament. The Development team, captained by Hayley Lambert and Janek Savage, did very well placing 8th out of the 13 teams. The Elite team, led by Phil White and Sarah Hammer, stormed through the competition and made it to the Final against Macquarie. Both teams were at their peak, but unfortunately, it was Macquarie that won the day, 10-6, taking out the gold. SUUFA came a respectable second and can’t wait to meet Macquarie again for a re-match!

Sydney Uni IV Wrap Up!

On the 29th of May, thirteen different university teams travelled out to the mud-splattered fields of Moore Park from as far as Canberra to take part in the Sydney Uni IV tournament. This year, many universities were able to gain the numbers in order to field two full teams, with Sydney Uni gaining enough interest to even submit three! As the teams battled it out on the muddy fields, Wollongong stole the win away from Newcastle, 6-5 at the end of the day. Sydney Uni Representative David Manescu was awarded the Most Valuable Male Player award with Geoa Geer from Macquarie Uni, taking it for the girls. UNSW 2 displayed on-field sportsmanship heads above the rest and was awarded the spirit award.

EUG's and Elite Training

Hello all!

This is our first official announcement about Eastern Uni Games - SO GET PUMPED!!!

What is EUGs? Eastern Uni Games is a 4 day university tournament/party involving the majority of universities in the eastern region. This year it is being held in Canberra from the 3rd-7th of July. If you're interested in 4 days of ultimate, 4 nights of partying and an excessive amount of team bonding, then be sure to come talk to us!

Open (to all) tryouts will take place during training next week (training is also still on so please come along even if you don't plan to tryout). Please arrive at the Square at 3.30pm for 3.45pm SHARP "kick off" next Thursday (the 21st) ending at 5.30pm.

This will be our only tryout session for EUGs due to time constraints so if you plan on attending EUGs but can't make it on thursday you need to let Max or Nathan know ASAP.

EUGs training will take place on Friday nights on Oval 2 from 6.15 to 8.30pm with the first session commencing on Friday the 13th of May.

At this point we are looking at sending 2 teams to EUGs so tryouts will help establish whether you are looking to play with our experienced or development team. That means - if you want to go but don't think you're good enough: WE HAVE A SPOT FOR YOU!!!

If you have any questions ask one of us at training tomorrow or feel free to message/email me!

Lots of SUUFA love,

Laura

Social Calendar

So our ultra-talented Social Director Hayley has put together one kick ass social calendar for the coming semester:

To let you all know, in case you don't, every week, after our long and grueling Thursday practice, we tend to go out together as a team for a time called Social.  Every week, what we do varies a bit but normally it ends up with us going out somewhere and getting a bit sloshy while enjoying each others company (til the wee hours of the morning).  Many of these nights start off at our Pub Sponsor, the Nag's Head Hotel in Glebe, where we grab some quick grub on the cheap

To give you all a quick preview of what's coming up, Take a look at what is below:
